Who. Am. I. That question of identity, of the self’s place in a comparatively narcissistic society – a society which values the essence of being different as desirable, yet which attempts to be different in the same way…ahem. Sorry. I get carried away sometimes.

I’m afraid I don’t really have an answer, except to say that I’m a university student, studying a double degree of Creative Arts (major: Creative Writing) and Arts (major: currently unknown). I love me some learnin'!

And that I’m a nineteen-year-old Christian (feel free to ask me anything, I don't bite!) who is frustrated with the late release dates of most films in Australian cinemas, who also likes to read (but starts many more books than he finishes), and gets irritated when drivers don’t use their indicators. Tut-tut.

And I’m a Grammar Nazi. That is all.

Words are my life. Dreaming is my fuel. Imagination is my sanity. God's love is my motivation.

I'm a prose admin over at DailyLitDeviations, so please suggest any good prose pieces you see. More information and my guidelines can be found here.

In Which I Become a Prose Admin and Layout My Ground Rules

Guess who's now a Prose Admin of DLD? Yep, that's right: me.

If it seems like I'm talking gibberish, I promise I'm not. DLD stands for DailyLitDeviations, a group who aims to reward good pieces of literature — a lot of which seems to go unnoticed because of the blindingly dazzling talent of visual artists here. The group features five pieces of literature a day, helping them get exposure and be rewarded for their quality. However, a DLD is not a DD (Daily Deviation), so if you're wanting to submit a Literature DD, please do so to Beccalicious, GrimFace242, DorianHarper or neurotype

DailyLitDeviations have three categories: prose, poetry and foreign language. You can find a list of the admin here, but I am a prose admin, so it'd be cool if you could suggest some prose pieces to me (please).

The group's general guidelines are here, but mine are listed below:
  • Please note me your suggestions, each within their own, individual note (helps me keep track of things).
  • There is a limit of three suggestions per suggester, per week.
  • Please include 'DLD Prose Suggestion' in the note's subject, as well as a link to the piece and a short description (why do you think it deserves a DLD? what did you like about it?). One to two sentences is sufficient.
  • Please ensure that the piece you are suggesting is of a high quality. Bad grammar, punctuation and spelling get on my nerves (so bad!) so please be confident the piece you're suggesting is pretty amazing. One or two errors is forgivable, but I'd prefer none. (I know, I'm being a pedant, but I can't treat this lightly.)
  • If you've suggested to another DLD admin, please do not suggest the same deviation to me! And likewise for suggesting to other admins if you've already suggested to me: we poor souls get confused enough as it is.
  • You can suggest your own work! Same rules apply.
  • I think that's please suggest some pieces for me to feature!
I'd also like to thank SilverInkblot for being really encouraging and friendly during this whole process, and also SCFrankles for unintentionally leading me to do this. So, er, thanks!

Two for TeaJohn loved tea. Just the thought of it made him feel warm inside. Sometimes it even felt as though tea were a part of him. But then, he was a teapot.
No. He had to face it. He was an ex-teapot. It was six months since the last time he'd been used to make tea. Six months since he'd ended up in this charity shop. He'd started off in the window, then been moved back to the table, then onto a low shelf, then a top shelf and now he was residing on what could only be called the 'junk shelf': sharing space with a haggard baby doll, some statement jewellery and a couple of battered paperbacks. He couldn't help but feel bitter. Yes, he had been through the wars but he knew he was still capable of providing good service. Of fulfilling the role for which he had been created.
It was nearly closing time. The shop had been empty but one last customer had slipped in. She had a few shopping bags with her: her last call before home, John guessed. He hadn't seen her before but the male volunteer
His Better HalfBride/Groom

FluffThe Diary of His Supreme and Condescending Majesty, King Stalwart Prettipaws, the One and Only
14th April
The housemaid has just given birth to a second child. It really is too much. So much noise. So much commotion. The footman appears to have forgotten I exist. I had to give the order twice this morning before I was fed.
However. I am the King - I must be gracious about the situation. They may be just servants but it is their home too. It would be cruel of me to expect them to leave at this stressful time. Perhaps I will go and stay in another palace for a while. My kingdom is certainly large enough for me to be able to find something to my liking.
Of course, there have been all those skirmishes with local pretenders to my throne recently. But I think the situation is now in paw. (No-one can yell and fluff themself up like I can.) It has undeniably been stressful though. And now with the staff reproducing… All in all it might be a good idea to get away for
Oh, Bad LuckIn the spring of 1313, after 13 years of marriage, it became evident an heir was finally on the way for the King and Queen of Deviancia.
“In honour of our future child, I shall add an extra month to the year,” said the King. “To bring the baby luck!”
The Prince was born on the 13th day of the 13th month.
It was a Friday.
“Really?” said the Queen. “You couldn’t have worked out this was going to happen?”
“My love,” said the King, trying to soothe his wife’s angst. “Let’s not give into triskaidekaphobia!”
But he did feel uneasy, and decided to invite the local fairies to the christening to be on the safe side.
There were the usual presents of handsomeness, long life, intelligence. Then it came to the turn of the youngest fairy. She was desperate to get to the lavatory (fairies have bladders the size of a peanut) and didn’t think carefully about the wording of her gift.
“He’ll be abl

Thanks so much! And thank you heaps for the faves and the llama badge :D
I'm not really that fussed on grammar in comments and such: just when people profess to be good at writing, but they're deviations are riddled with typos—that's what really gets to me!

Thanks again
